[提要]  新中國(guó)的地基基礎(chǔ)工程科學(xué)五十年來(lái)取得的巨大進(jìn)展是舊中國(guó)無(wú)法相比的，作者回顧了我國(guó)五十年來(lái)地基基礎(chǔ)科學(xué)的發(fā)展，重點(diǎn)介紹了在特殊土地基、高層建筑箱筏基礎(chǔ)、樁基礎(chǔ)等方面的科學(xué)研究及貢獻(xiàn)。提出了土力學(xué)理論、深基坑開(kāi)挖、地下空間的利用等方面有待研究和解決的問(wèn)題，可供從事相關(guān)領(lǐng)域工作的廣大工程技術(shù)人員參考。

The brilliant achievements of soil and foundation engineering have been gained since the founding of P. R.China. The research on special soil foundation, box-foundation and piled foundation and the contribution to foundation engineering are briefly introduced. Some questions to be solved, such as soil mechanics, the excavation of deep foundation pit, the application of underground space, are put forward, which is a reference for engineers and technicians.
